Translation

Our high-powered Translation add-on supports editors of multilingual systems and makes translating content and conversations easy.

Overcoming language barriers in international companies

How can cross-border collaboration be successful?

Large companies are often part of an internationally operating value chain. In order to serve their customers as optimally as possible, fast response times to enquiries and good knowledge management are crucial in global competition. Such companies employ people from different parts of the world, who often do not all speak the same language.

XELOS has always improved communication between users in different locations.

In the new version, we are now significantly expanding these possibilities and simplifying communication between employees in different countries and speaking different languages.

With the new Translation Add-on, XELOS can now translate content and conversations into all languages available in the system and automatically display the content to the user in their native language. Collaboration in international teams and companies has never been so quick and easy!

Overcoming language barriers – in real time

With its new real-time translation function, XELOS enables seamless communication between employees from different language areas. Whether in chat rooms, forums or microblogs, content is automatically translated and displayed to participants in their respective languages.

In this way, XELOS promotes cross-location knowledge exchange and helps networked teams make informed decisions more quickly.

This creates particular added value for companies with international projects: questions that arise within a team can be easily shared with colleagues in other countries and resolved together.
This strengthens company-wide knowledge transfer and improves collaboration across language and national borders.

Efficient international knowledge management

For successful collaboration in international teams, it is essential that all participants can immediately understand content such as news, posts or wiki documents.

With XELOS, such content and associated status messages and conversations are automatically translated into the respective language of the logged-in users and marked accordingly. Thanks to modern technologies, the translation quality is already at a very high level. However, if clarification is still required, the original version of the content can be displayed and compared at any time.

This function is particularly important in ongoing projects: information and tasks are recorded, understood and implemented more quickly – regardless of the location or language of the team members.
In the long term, this function supports sustainable, international knowledge management: even completed projects can be traced across languages and used as a reference for new projects.

Translation for content editors

Internal communication - worldwide

In addition to promoting international project work, the social intranet also serves as a central information platform for internal communication in many companies.

For numerous XELOS customers, the intranet functions as a central company portal that is used by employees worldwide. For editors from different departments and countries, this means that Content must often be available in several languages – and address different target groups at the same time.

The new Translation Add-on specifically supports this process: even during content creation – for example, in news articles or forms – texts can be translated into the required languages in real time. This ensures consistent, multilingual communication throughout the company.

Mehrsprachige Suche

Multilingual search

Making knowledge accessible worldwide

The system-wide search is a key tool for finding information quickly and specifically on the intranet – and thus an essential component for effective knowledge transfer.

The new translation add-on expands the existing search options and also makes created content automatically available in all languages in the search. Employees can therefore not only easily search for information in their own language, but also see whether colleagues in other countries have written and collected information on the requested topics. Of course, employees can then display the results found in their own language.

The new translation add-on significantly expands the search function: content is automatically indexed in all available languages and can therefore be found across languages. Employees can not only search in their own language, but also receive hits for content created by colleagues in other countries.

The results found can then be conveniently displayed in the preferred language – for fast, barrier-free access to knowledge throughout the company.

Focus on innovative expansion

Connecting neural networks to XELOS

At the heart of these new functions and possibilities is the newly developed translation add-on. This checks all requests in the XELOS system, processes them internally and then sends them via API to a translation engine. Here at XELOS, we work closely with the manufacturers of the translation services to ensure that multilingual communication and content work runs as smoothly and automatically as possible for users.

Technologie und Sicherheit

The Translation Add-on not only acts as a central link for multilingual communication, but also processes content at an impressive speed. It automatically compares the information with the individual language settings of each user, checks whether a translated version already exists, and decides on this basis which content needs to be retranslated.

Engines from external, professional translation services are responsible for translating the information and content processed in this way. Our Translation Add-on only sends them the anonymised texts, which they then translate into the requested language with the help of neural networks. We attach great importance to compliance with high security and data protection standards and only work with translation services that also support these high standards. Data is anonymised, transmitted in random order and encrypted, and is not stored by the translation services but deleted after processing. The Translation Add-on receives the translations back and then reassembles them for the respective content, conversations and users. The results are stored to avoid retranslating the same content and to further increase speed for users. When developing the new translation function in XELOS, smooth use and data security were therefore the top priorities.
